As the story unfolded yesterday about the Lagos train accident, more revelations have now emerged.
These revelations put the driver of the bus at the center of the blame.
According to an eyewitness account. She says. ” We warned him to allow the train to leave before crossing but he was adamant. Everybody was shouting, cautioning him but he moved.”
The vehicle, according to the report, had 85 passengers on board, mostly civil servants, and some dependents. Two died on the spot, four died in the hospital.
Today, according to an update from the state governor, he stated that he visited the survivors at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH yesterday.
The governor announced there are 42 moderately injured persons, 29 serious injuries and eight mild injuries. Twenty-five persons have been reportedly treated and transferred to Gbagada General Hospital, at Agege General Hospital, and at the Trauma Centre at the toll gate in Lagos state.
Meanwhile the governor of the state Babajide Sanwo-Olu has also declared another three days of mourning, ordering flags across the state to fly at half-mast.
