During a recent interview, when asked what was the most, he had ever been paid for among the dozens of roles he played.
The 76-year-old Academy Award nominee admitted he had a few regrets in his lifetime.
According to him, during his hay days when things were going well, as an actor, he turned down a proposed $34 million paycheck to star in another “Rambo” movie in the ’80s.
Sylvester Stallone proudly declared to the reporter that he refused to make another “Rambo” flick, even for millions of dollars.
According to him, “I turned down 34,” he said of the massive paycheck he let go at a young age.
“We were doing ‘Rambo III.’ We thought it was going to be the biggest hit — this was before it came out. And I was paid a fortune for it.
Then they go, ‘We want “Rambo IV.” Here it is: Pay or play, 34.’ I go, ‘Let’s not jump the gun here …’” “And that’s in 1980 dollars,” Stallone added.
In today’s dollars, the $34 million he turned down back then would now be worth approximately $85 million due to inflation.
