The news as it trends.
Fat Joe, born Joseph Antonio Cartagena, is a Bronx-born rapper known for hits like Lean Back, What’s Luv?, and All the Way Up.
A staple in the hip-hop world since the 1990s, he’s also been a cultural figure and entrepreneur in the entertainment industry.
Now, he’s facing serious allegations.
Fat Joe has been accused in a civil lawsuit of sex trafficking, fraud, coercion, and abuse, allegedly dating back over 15 years.
The claims were made by his former hype man, Terrance “T.A.” Dixon, who says he worked alongside the rapper for more than a decade.
Dixon alleges that during their time together, he was subjected to sexual exploitation, financial manipulation, and psychological abuse. He also claims to have witnessed Fat Joe engaging in sexual acts with underage girls aged 15 and 16.
The 157-page lawsuit, filed in New York on June 19, seeks over $2 million in damages.
Fat Joe’s legal team has strongly denied the accusations, calling the suit a “blatant act of retaliation” and accusing Dixon of extortion. In fact, Fat Joe himself filed a separate lawsuit back in April, claiming Dixon and his attorney attempted to blackmail him.
As of now, no criminal charges have been filed. The case is scheduled for a hearing on August 1, and both sides are preparing for a high-profile legal showdown.
This blog will be updated as more revelations come in. Stay tuned.
