The news as it trends.

President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria is set to embark on the ambitious Lagos-Abuja railway project, which will incorporate a high-speed bullet train.

This initiative aims to drastically cut the travel duration between the two major cities from a lengthy 12 hours to a mere 2 to 3 hours.

Engineer Yinka Idris, the Director of Operations at Geofocus Consortium, has indicated that the construction phase is expected to last between 48 and 52 months, marking a significant advancement in the nation’s transportation infrastructure.

Having completed its feasibility studies and secured the necessary funding, the project is now pending approvals from the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) and the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

Once these approvals are obtained, the project promises to not only enhance travel efficiency but also bolster economic opportunities for the citizens, according to experts, paving the way for a more interconnected and prosperous Nigeria as everyday Nigerians would have wished it to be.
