The Nigerian woman who violently destroyed her husband’s passport may now face prosecution.

The Nigerian Immigration Service has issued a request for the woman depicted in a viral video on Saturday to come forward, following her aggressive destruction of her husband’s international passport at Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, Nigeria.

The individual has been identified as Mrs. Favour Igiebor, who possesses passport number A11990869.

This incident has prompted considerable concern, leading KN Nandap, the Comptroller General of Immigration, to initiate a thorough investigation. A statement released by the Service’s Public Relations Officer, DCI KT Udo, on Sunday, August 11, 2024, confirmed Mrs. Igiebor’s involvement in the incident.

In response to this occurrence, the Comptroller General has instructed that Mrs. Igiebor be summoned for additional questioning.

Should the allegations be proven true, her conduct may violate Section 10(b) of the Immigration Act 2015 (as amended), which specifies certain penalties in Section 10(h) of the same legislation.
