Panic erupted at Palma de Mallorca Airport when a small fire broke out aboard a Ryanair plane preparing for takeoff early Saturday.
Eighteen passengers were injured, six of whom were hospitalized.
Some passengers jumped from the aircraft’s wings in fear, while others evacuated through emergency exits.
Emergency services quickly activated a mass casualty protocol, deploying ambulances and firefighters.
Fortunately, all injuries were minor.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
