The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Nigeria has uncovered an unauthorized alcohol manufacturing facility in Lagos Island, leading to the confiscation of goods worth N200 million.
Following extensive surveillance, officials found that multiple storage areas and rooms within the Oke-Arin market had been repurposed into makeshift production sites for various brands of alcoholic beverages, which were being manufactured, packaged, and sold openly.
During the operation, NAFDAC seized over 2,000 cartons of empty bottles and pre-packaged drinks, as well as a small plastic mixing tank, a makeshift filter, and assorted packaging materials.
