(Domestic Violence Report)
As it trends.
The tragic death of Nnena Miriam, a 28-year-old Nigerian-born nurse, has shocked the healthcare community.
She was discovered dead in her Leeds apartment on April 29, 2025, alongside the body of her 32-year-old ex-partner from Bradford.
Authorities were alerted after a close friend filed a missing person report, concerned that Miriam had not responded to messages since her last hospital shift on Sunday.
When police arrived at her shared accommodation on Dawlish Road, they found both individuals deceased.
Preliminary investigations indicate signs of strangulation and a knife wound, though a full autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death.
Miriam had recently returned from Nigeria, where she celebrated her introduction ceremony, a step toward marriage.
She had hoped this would mark a new beginning, away from her abusive ex-partner, whom she had struggled to escape in London.
Despite ending the relationship months ago, her 32-year-old ex from Bradford continued to force his way into her life.
Friends revealed that Miriam had expressed fear and frustration, stating she had done everything possible to stop him.
Just days before her death, she told her flatmates she would no longer allow him into her home.
On April 29, 2025, police discovered both bodies in her Leeds apartment after a missing person report was filed.
Preliminary investigations indicate signs of strangulation and a knife wound.
Her death has raised concerns about intimate partner violence, prompting calls for greater awareness and protection for vulnerable women.
The investigation remains ongoing.
