The news as it trends.
Kuwaiti authorities have arrested two Nigerian nationals in connection with a $14,918 robbery at an exchange office in Mahboula.
The suspects were apprehended within 24 hours of the incident, during which they allegedly stole foreign currencies equivalent to 4,600 Kuwaiti Dinars.
The suspects used stolen license plates and monitored the exchange office to execute the robbery. One suspect confessed, and the stolen money, along with a small bag of crystal meth, was recovered.
The suspects have been referred to the public prosecution for further legal action.
The implications of this robbery are serious. In Kuwait, armed robbery is considered a grave offense and can lead to severe legal consequences. Based on similar cases, the suspects could face significant prison time if found guilty.
For example, a former Ministry of Interior officer was sentenced to 15 years in prison with hard labor for his involvement in a robbery attempt. The presence of narcotics (like crystal meth) found with the suspects could lead to further charges and penalties.
