Jubilations as Ooni of Ife twins arrive at the place for the first time.

The highly anticipated arrival of Prince Adesina and Princess Adesewa Ogunwusi, the royal twins of Arole Oodua Olofin Adimula, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, occurred on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the Ile-Oodua Palace in Ile-Ife.

Their entrance was met with a warm reception from their father, Ooni Ogunwusi, as well as members of the royal family, traditional leaders, high chiefs, chief priests, and various dignitaries present at the palace.

This significant event was celebrated with traditional ceremonies that paid homage to the rich customs of Ile-Ife, the ancestral home of the Oduduwa lineage.

The Araba Agbaye, the Global Head of Ifa Cult, along with High Chief Obadio Farotimi Faloba, the guardian of the Oduduwa shrine, conducted vital royal prayers to bestow blessings upon the twins during their arrival.

High Chief Adesiyan, the Lowa Adimula of Ile-Ife, escorted Prince Adesina to the revered chamber known as Ile Igbo, where he participated in ancestral communion, a deeply rooted tradition in Ile-Ife.

The Traditional Prime Minister of Ife, Oba Idowu Adediwura, called upon the ancestors to safeguard and bless the new royal twins, emphasizing Ooni Ogunwusi’s historic significance as the first Ooni to have twins since the establishment of the Oduduwa throne.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has been married to nine women, with his first three marriages ending in divorce.

He married one wife in September 2022 and has since taken five more, totaling six marriages to date.

Tobi Phillips, the mother of the twins, was also present and photographed during the ceremony celebrating their return to the palace.
