Kelly Boyi, a Nigerian-born career coach, has made headlines with his decision to leave Canada after 12 years.
Arriving in 2013 as a hopeful immigrant, Boyi built a life filled with milestones, including obtaining Canadian citizenship, property, and a thriving career.
However, citing economic uncertainty, a housing crisis, and job market struggles, Boyi announced his return to Nigeria.
His story took a whole new turn on social media platform X, with many commending him for coming back to Nigeria, while others argued that Canada is still better than Nigeria.
This sparked a heated debate, highlighting the shifting realities of migration and the bold steps required to chase new dreams.
Boyi leaves Canada with gratitude and hope for the future.
According to him, “In 2025, I’m choosing to say goodbye — because I know it’s time for the next chapter in my life.”
Bye Bye Canada 🇨🇦
12 years ago, I landed in Canada as a young, wide-eyed, and somewhat naive boy chasing a dream — like so many others before me.
I came in search of opportunity, growth, and a place to call home. And for the most part… I found it.
