Adegbesan, 34, of Inverness Street in Camden, has been sentenced to six years and seven months in prison by Wood Green Crown Court.
The crime investigation began on July 22, 2021, when Adegbesan was reported to have subjected the victim to a horrifying and traumatic ordeal by raping her.
The inquiry was launched after officers swiftly responded to a 999 call from the victim.
The police worked tirelessly to gather evidence, resulting in a charge the very next day, which kept Adegbesan in custody and off the streets.
Detective Constable Max Orange, who led the investigation in Camden, commended the victim for her bravery in coming forward to report this appalling crime.
He highlighted the Metropolitan Police’s dedication to protecting women and girls, expressing satisfaction in securing justice for the victim by imprisoning another dangerous criminal.
He urged anyone who has faced abuse, no matter when it happened, to contact the police for the support they need.
The police reported that the victim received support from specialized detectives throughout the reporting and legal process.
