The Police Command of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) successfully intervened to rescue a 25-year-old woman named Promise Eze from a suspected armed robber and ritualist in Abuja, following alerts from hotel personnel about her suspicious situation.
Upon arrival, officers found Eze unconscious, bound to a chair with her mouth covered, and promptly transported her to Wuse District Hospital, where she eventually regained consciousness.
Investigations indicated that Eze had checked into the hotel with a man who initially identified himself as Emmanuel Okoro from Lagos State.
However, she later recognized him as Michael Prince, an individual she had met online who had misrepresented himself as an oil company employee from Delta State.
What started as a seemingly harmless encounter quickly turned into a frightening ordeal when the suspect allegedly threatened her with a dagger, restrained her, and stole her two mobile phones before escaping.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, shared details of the incident on X, confirming that a thorough manhunt for the suspect is currently in progress.
The Commissioner of Police for the FCT, CP Olatunji Disu, denounced the violent act and urged residents, especially young women, to be vigilant when interacting with strangers.
He reassured the public of the police’s unwavering dedication to ensuring the safety and security of all community members.
