Authorities have uncovered a sophisticated car theft ring in the Bronx, New York, recovering over 40 luxury vehicles worth millions.
According to reports, high-end cars, including Rolls-Royces, BMWs, and Mercedes-Benzes, were stolen from driveways across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Philadelphia while owners slept, investigators revealed.
The stolen vehicles were stored in Bronx parking garages before being prepped for shipment to West Africa. Law enforcement intercepted the operation just before the cars reached shipping containers.
Among those charged are Arona Amadou, Mamadou Camara, and Moussa Doumbia, who face first-degree criminal possession of stolen property. The operation, dubbed “Operation High Rollers,” led to the indictment of eight men.
Some suspects are awaiting arraignment, while others remain at large. This takedown disrupts a multimillion-dollar black market and restores a sense of security for affected residents, authorities said.
