During a recent event at a Celestial Church of Christ in Lagos, he shared insights from his personal experiences and highlighted the significance of self-advocacy in his choice to pursue a career in fighting.
He noted that his passion for the sport originated from a desire to be able to defend himself.
Adesanya acknowledged the significant role his father played in shaping his career, crediting his father’s unwavering support as instrumental in his growth as a fighter.
He recounted how the process of learning self-defense unveiled his natural talent for combat sports, which ultimately evolved into a successful professional career.
Beyond his athletic pursuits, Adesanya underscored the vital role of faith in his life.
He remarked that while diligence and preparation are essential, faith has served as a crucial guiding force, assisting him in overcoming uncertainties and challenges throughout both his career and personal life.
He noted, “My fight preparations involve intense training and commitment, yet the results are unpredictable.
In those critical moments, maintaining faith is essential, and I rely on it in every aspect of my life, including my career.”
In offering advice to those looking to follow in his footsteps, Adesanya encouraged them to forge their own distinct paths. “Rather than replicating my journey, I recommend that you develop your own.
Use my successes as inspiration but let that motivate you to achieve your own goals.
I believe that copying others may not lead to the best outcomes.”
Adesanya during his visit to Lagos, was warmly welcomed by everyone & took the opportunity to visit his hometown of Esa-Oke in Osun State, where he was seen enjoying the lively nightlife of Lagos, including a trip to a popular club on Lagos Island. `
