The British Army is extending an invitation to Commonwealth citizens, including individuals from Nigeria, to enlist in its esteemed ranks, effective from 19th August 2024.
The application period will be open until 26th August 2024, during which candidates are encouraged to apply for various positions, including musician, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineer, Royal Engineers Technician and Tradesman, and paratrooper.
This recruitment initiative highlights the significant contributions that Commonwealth soldiers have made and continue to make within the British Army.
It is important to emphasize that applications must be associated with the Recruit Bounty Referral Scheme, which involves referrals from current British Army members, with the exception of those applying for musician roles.
Musicians are required to meet specific musical criteria, detailed on the Army Musicians page.
A critical component of the recruitment process is the medical screening for Sickle Cell traits, which are more common in certain populations, including those from Commonwealth nations.
While possessing the Sickle Cell Trait does not automatically disqualify candidates, those deemed at higher risk will be required to undergo a diagnostic blood test prior to taking entry fitness assessments, ensuring the health and safety of all recruits.
