Actor Yomi Fabiyi calls for protests as Mohbad’s death anniversary approaches.

Yomi Fabiyi, a well-known Nigerian actor, has called for a “peaceful” demonstration to demand justice for Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, who sadly passed away under mysterious circumstances on September 12, 2023, shortly after joining Naira Marley’s Marlian Music.

His burial occurred the following day. An autopsy was performed on September 21 at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), but it did not reveal any significant information regarding the cause of his death.

Although the toxicology report showed traces of Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, it was not present in a lethal amount. Mohbad’s family has voiced their concerns over these findings and is urging for an independent investigation.

Monisola Odumosu, a member of the Aloba legal team, has publicly confirmed that a two-part autopsy is underway, with the first part completed and the second part concentrating on toxicology and histology tests.

In a recent post on Instagram, Fabiyi urged the public to attend forthcoming court sessions and engage in the coroner’s inquest peacefully.

He proposed that if there is no significant advancement, a peaceful protest could be organized to mark the first anniversary of Mohbad’s death in order to continue the pursuit of justice. “Let’s come together peacefully at the court for the next coroner inquest and ensure our voices are heard regarding this matter.

If we do not observe any meaningful developments, we will focus our efforts on the one-year anniversary,” he expressed, as noted in his various posts on Instagram.

Mohbad, who passed away on September 12, 2023, was a gifted Nigerian artist whose influence on the music industry remains profound, despite his early departure. His music continues to echo, leaving a lasting legacy that transcends his brief but significant career.

Today, he would have turned 28 years old.
