The Government of India, according to Nigerian Ministry spokesperson Kimiebi Ebienfa, has announced 250 fully-funded scholarships for Nigerians under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme.

The program, running from April 2025 to March 2026, offers training in fields such as IT, public administration, and renewable energy.

Interested Nigerians are advised to apply via the official ITEC website ().

Applicants are required to submit their application forms alongside supporting documents, including a nomination letter, academic certificates, a passport data page, and a recent medical fitness report.

Applicants are also expected to meet eligibility criteria, such as being between 25 and 45 years old and having at least five years of professional experience.

This initiative, according to the Indian government, aims to strengthen ties between India and Nigeria while empowering Nigerian professionals with skills to benefit their economy.

While Nigerians gain training to address skill gaps, India bolsters its diplomatic relations and solidifies its position as a development partner.

The gesture, according to the ministry spokesperson, reflects India’s commitment to capacity building and fostering South-South cooperation.

This program is expected to enhance Nigeria’s workforce, strengthen its relationship with India, and create mutual benefits for both nations.
