Tyrese Gibson has once again shared a deeply emotional moment online, breaking down in what he called a “gratitude cry.”
The singer and actor revealed that he recently lost his father to stage 4 cancer, and has allegedly been facing financial hardships, including bankruptcy and ongoing legal battles.
Despite the pain, Tyrese says his tears are rooted in faith and spiritual connection.
After a powerful encounter with Bishop T.D. Jakes at a wedding in Charleston, South Carolina, he felt overwhelmed by God’s presence and divine purpose.
The meeting, which almost didn’t happen due to a missed flight, left Tyrese feeling spiritually renewed and deeply moved.
Known for his emotional transparency, Tyrese continues to share raw, vulnerable moments with his fans — using them as a platform to speak openly about healing, gratitude, and divine acknowledgment.
In his own words: “This isn’t sadness. It’s a heart full of gratitude. A good old gratitude cry.”
Tyrese Gibson, born December 30, 1978, is 46 years old.
He’s been married twice, first to Norma Mitchell (2007–2009), then to Samantha Lee Gibson (2017–2020) and is currently single.
He has two daughters: Shayla Somer Gibson with Norma, and Soraya Lee Gibson with Samantha.
Known for his roles in Fast & Furious and his R&B music career, Tyrese has faced financial challenges, including bankruptcy and legal disputes over child support.
His estimated net worth is around $3 million.
Despite setbacks, he remains active in entertainment and vocal about his Christian faith, often sharing emotional, faith-driven moments with fans.
In September 2024, Tyrese was dragged back to court by Samantha Lee over unpaid child support.
A judge in Fulton County, Georgia, found him in willful contempt for failing to pay over $73,000 in child support and legal fees.
He was briefly detained during the hearing but released after filing an appeal.
Tyrese later clarified he wasn’t arrested, just held temporarily, and insisted he’s always supported his daughters beyond court orders.
The legal drama stems from ongoing custody and financial disputes with Samantha.
Tyrese called the situation “baby mama drama” and claimed the judge was biased. His appeal is still pending.
