The Trump administration has formally notified Congress of plans to sell nearly $6 billion in weapons to Israel, reinforcing its support amid growing global criticism over the Gaza war.
The proposed package includes 30 AH-64 Apache helicopters worth $3.8 billion and 3,200 infantry assault vehicles valued at $1.9 billion.
These weapons would be delivered over the next 2–3 years.
The move comes as peace talks stall and international pressure mounts over civilian casualties in Gaza.
Critics, including Senate Democrats, have called for restrictions on offensive arms sales, but Trump remains firm in backing Israel’s military.
The deal is part of a broader 10-year U.S.–Israel defense agreement nearing its end.
