Trump Administration Moves to Make Citizenship Eligibility Even Harder.

In the USA.

The news as it trends.

Today, under the Trump administration, the process of obtaining U.S. citizenship may once again become more difficult.

The administration is advocating for a stricter version of the naturalization test.

It’s worth noting—even the current version isn’t simple, as it requires a strong understanding of American history, government, and civic principles.

This push isn’t new. In 2020, Trump expanded the civics test to 128 questions, raising the passing standard to 12 correct answers out of 20.

In 2021, Biden rolled it back to the long-standing format: 100 questions, with applicants needing only 6 correct answers from a 10-question sample.

Now, with Trump’s team back in office, they claim the test is “too easy” and are fast-tracking efforts to reintroduce the tougher version.

Critics argue this back-and-forth is confusing and imposes unfair challenges—particularly on immigrants with limited English skills or little access to legal support.

As the news broke, outrage erupted on social media.

Many view the move as an attempt to tighten citizenship eligibility in increasingly aggressive ways—potentially preventing countless lawful residents from realizing the American dream.
