In the USA.
The news as it trends.
A political storm and scandal is now brewing around Tom Homan, the White House Border Czar, after explosive reports revealed he was allegedly caught on hidden camera accepting $50,000 in cash from undercover FBI agents posing as contractors.
The sting operation, conducted in Texas in September 2024, reportedly captured Homan promising to help secure future government contracts if Donald Trump returned to office.
Federal prosecutors were reportedly considering charges including bribery, conspiracy, and fraud, but in a stunning twist, the investigation was quietly shut down by Trump-appointed officials in early 2025.
Trump allies dismissed the investigation as a “deep state” probe, further fueling public outrage.
Now, calls for Homan’s resignation are growing louder by the minute, especially across blogs and social media amid claims that Pam Bondi and Kash Patel were aware of the case but allegedly worked behind the scenes to bury it.
Social platforms are ablaze with accusations of Trump’s double standard, pursuing political enemies while shielding allies.
The administration has come under fire, with many labeling it a corrupt regime in modern American history citing Homan’s $50K scandal as a blatant violation of U.S. laws regarding gifts and employment ethics.
As the scandal unfolds, all eyes are on Congress to see whether it will step in or stay silent.
But who is Tom Homan?
Born in 1961 in West Carthage, New York, Homan has become synonymous with hardline immigration enforcement in the United States.
At 63 years old, he’s carved out a long and controversial career in law enforcement and federal immigration policy.
He began his journey in public service as a police officer in 1983 before joining the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service just a year later.
His educational background includes an associate degree in criminal justice from Jefferson Community College and a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
Over the decades, Homan rose through the ranks, serving as a Border Patrol agent, investigator, and supervisor.
In 2013, President Obama appointed him as ICE’s Executive Associate Director, and by 2017, he was named Acting Director of ICE under President Trump.
During his tenure, thousands were deported en masse, and his aggressive enforcement tactics drew both praise and criticism.
In November 2024, Trump tapped him again, this time as Border Czar for his second term. Homan also contributes regularly to Fox News and is affiliated with the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025.
Outside of politics, Homan is a family man. He’s been married to his wife, Elizabeth Homan—a former air hostess for American Airlines since 1980. Together, they have four children.
Homan’s estimated net worth is around $10 million, bolstered by ownership of 300 acres of farmland in Ohio and multiple rental properties.
Now, as Tom Homan finds himself embroiled in a pay-for-play $50K bribery scandal, his legacy, once defined by fierce loyalty to immigration enforcement and deep ties to conservative politics is under growing scrutiny.
Whether this moment marks a turning point or another buried controversy remains to be seen.
