On a recent episode of Toke Moments, media personality Toke Makinwa broke down in tears, revealing a deeply personal struggle she had kept hidden for years.
“I didn’t share the fact that I’ve had a couple of failed attempts trying to be a mum,” she said.
But what changed everything was a cruel tweet mocking her pain. According to Toke, someone wrote: “That’s why your two IVF attempts failed.”
“Nothing has broken me like that,” she admitted.
The cruel comment shook her to her core, making her question her faith and identity.
“I stopped praying, I stopped going to church. I had totally given up,” she admitted. “Even when people said ‘go and have a baby,’ they didn’t know the pain behind the scenes.”
Despite the heartbreak, Toke is reclaiming her story with fierce vulnerability.
“I’m not crying because you mudaf**kers don’t deserve my tears,” she said defiantly. “But it made me go back to God.”
Her honesty has sparked a wave of support, reminding us that behind every public figure is a private battle—and empathy should never be optional.
Later, she posted:
“I am a ball of emotions… the good kind of cry. I cannot believe I cried on the internet.
I’m one to laugh at people who cry online but let me call myself out before you guys do it.
I’m a mess, my heart is over the moon, the lines have fallen for me in pleasant places and it’s only just the beginning.”
She ended with a message of hope:
“It got pretty heavy on the Pod as I shared this precious journey with my @tokemoments family. God is never late. I hope this encourages you to hold on tight. xx”
