In the USA.
The news as it trends.
A 19-year-old woman from Russellville, Alabama, is lucky to be alive after being struck by lightning inside her home while scrolling Instagram on her charging phone.
Lisa Henderson was lying in bed during a storm when lightning hit her house, traveled through the outlet, and surged up her phone charger — zapping her through the device.
She described the sensation as “like sticking a fork in a light socket.”
Her fiance called 911, and she was rushed to the hospital, dazed and unable to recall basic information like her birthday.
Doctors say she’s fortunate the current didn’t reach her heart.
Henderson later joked about the incident on TikTok, calling it a “shocking experience.”
