The Nigerian World.

The news as it trend.

Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Igboho has broken his silence following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, unleashing a bold and deeply personal statement.

In a viral video posted on July 13, 2025, Igboho declared:

“He tried to kill me, but I’m alive today. He’s gone.”

Known for fiercely protecting his community in Ibadan from violent land encroachments — especially involving herders accused of destroying farmland and livelihoods — Igboho linked Buhari to past threats on his life.

Many of the herders, according to Igboho, were affiliated with political interests, and Buhari himself was known to own a large cattle business.

Igboho referenced the 2021 DSS raid on his home, which left several dead and was widely criticized.

His statement has reignited debates over Buhari’s legacy, particularly surrounding human rights and suppression of dissent.

While some called Igboho’s remarks celebratory and harsh, others saw them as justified, recalling the brutal night that nearly cost him his life.
