Social Media Erupts as Cuomo Slams Mamdani Over Apartment—Critics Claim Cuomo Owns More Properties.

In the USA.

The news as it trends.

Andrew Cuomo, who lives in a luxury Manhattan apartment and owns a sprawling seven-bedroom estate in Westchester County valued at over $22 million, has taken to social media to criticize Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani for occupying a $2,300 rent-stabilized unit.

Cuomo claims Mamdani is denying housing to the needy, yet Cuomo himself, according to records, allegedly pays nearly $8,000 monthly for his city apartment and has not offered any of his own properties to help the homeless.

His estate spans over 11,800 square feet, making Mamdani’s modest apartment look like a broom closet in comparison.

Critics are calling Cuomo’s attack hypocritical—like the pot calling the kettle black.

Mamdani’s net worth is less than 1% of Cuomo’s, yet it’s Mamdani being asked to vacate his legal residence while Cuomo retains multiple homes and millions in assets.

On social media, the former governor’s comments have reignited debates about housing equity, privilege, and performative outrage.

If Cuomo truly believes in helping the needy, why not donate part of his estate or offer shelter to the homeless? many lament.

The clash between wealth and principle is playing out in real time—and New Yorkers are watching closely, some ain’t going quietly about it.
