NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe is poking fun at his finances following the resolution of a high-profile sexual assault lawsuit.
On his Nightcap podcast with Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, Sharpe quipped, “My pocket’s light,” while playfully pressing his co-host to repay a personal debt of $5,900.
The multimillion-dollar lawsuit—filed by OnlyFans model Gabriella Zuniga—was reportedly settled through what Sharpe’s legal team described as “protracted and respectful negotiations.”
The claims have now been dismissed with prejudice, closing the chapter permanently.
Sharpe’s public joke struck fans as a blend of reflection and humor—perhaps a subtle nod to tightened purse strings.
He seemed to reclaim agency after a challenging legal ordeal while keeping the mood light:
“You owe me $5,900. You basically told me, ‘I’mma pay you when I get ready’… It’s a penalty for being late… You got it, but I need to get it… My pocket’s light right now…”
The laughter-filled moment followed days of speculation and headlines surrounding the alleged $23 million settlement.
