Nigeria – Entertainment & Celebrity Gossip.
The news as it trends.
Popular TikTok personality Peller has ignited a firestorm online after announcing a job opening for a cameraman — with a surprising twist: applicants must hold a Master’s degree to qualify for the ₦500,000 monthly salary.
The announcement, made via video, quickly went viral and drew sharp criticism from Nigerians who called the requirement “elitist” and “absurd.”
Many argued that photography is a skills-based profession, and that a strong portfolio should matter more than academic credentials.
Others pointed out the irony of Peller — who reportedly doesn’t hold a degree himself — demanding such qualifications.
While some defended his right to set his own terms, others saw it as a publicity stunt or a tone-deaf jab at Nigeria’s struggling education system.
Still, a few noted that ₦500K is more than many civil servants or even lecturers earn.
Whether naive or strategic, Peller’s post has sparked a national conversation about education, employment, and respect for creative work.
