Nicholas Giroux, a 37-year-old American man, has been sentenced to life imprisonment plus 20 years for the brutal murder of Nigerian-American boxer Isaiah Olugbemi.
The incident occurred in Odenton, Maryland, following a dispute over loud music.
Giroux shot Olugbemi 14 times, and chilling evidence was presented in court—including a recorded call where Giroux said,
“This is what happens when you f— with my sleep schedule. You don’t wake up,” according to WRC.
Olugbemi, just 27, was a rising star in amateur boxing and had recently won the National Golden Gloves Championship.
His death shocked the sports community and left behind a grieving wife and daughter.
The sentencing aims to deliver justice and highlight the devastating consequences of unchecked rage.
