The Nigerian world
The news as it trends.
In a major financial breakthrough, Nigerian banks have resumed allowing students to pay international tuition fees directly from their naira accounts using naira cards.
This development follows improved foreign exchange (FX) liquidity and the reactivation of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Form A portal.
Banks like GTBank and Lotus Bank now offer streamlined access to this service, enabling payments to UK, US, and other foreign institutions within just four days.
Students must register on the Trade System Portal, select Form A for educational fees, and submit required documents.
This move eases the burden on families, reduces reliance on black market FX, and empowers more Nigerians to pursue global education with fewer financial hurdles.
