The family of late Nigerian singer Mohbad is pushing back against what they describe as reckless online speculation.

Adura, Mohbad’s brother, recently warned social media commentator—particularly Verydarkman—to stop his “prose-like” speculative investigation into the singer’s death.

Adura claims the influencer is heightening public suspense without offering clear evidence, especially around leaked WhatsApp chats tied to the case.

He says this behavior is adding to the family’s grief and has threatened legal action if the claims aren’t backed by facts.

Adura insists he has already testified before police and the coroner, but believes Verydarkman’s vague accusations unfairly target him and mislead the public.

Who was Mohbad? Mohbad, born Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, was a fast-rising Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter from Lagos State.

He shot to fame in 2020 with the hit song “Ko Por Ke (KPK)” featuring Rexxie, and was known for other tracks like Peace, Feel Good, and Ponmo.

His sound blended Afrobeats, street pop, and hip hop, earning him a loyal fanbase and multiple award nominations.

He was formerly signed to Marlian Records, led by Naira Marley, before launching his own label, Imolenization.

In September 2023, Mohbad tragically died at age 27 under mysterious circumstances.

Prior to his death, he had posted a video naming individuals—allegedly including Naira Marley—as people to hold accountable if anything happened to him.

His passing sparked widespread mourning and ongoing controversy, with fans and family still demanding answers.
