Around the world – Nigeria.

The news as it trends.

A peaceful farming community in Itasin-Imobi, Ogun State, was thrown into mourning after a wandering elephant from a government-reserved forest fatally attacked Musa Kalamu, a local farmer.

The incident occurred on July 28, 2025, as Kalamu worked on his farm.

Witnesses say the elephant had been a recurring menace—destroying crops and fishing nets for years—but this was its first deadly encounter.

Authorities confirmed the elephant escaped from the forest and trampled Kalamu, who died en route to the hospital.

A disturbing video circulating online shows the victim’s lifeless body, sparking urgent calls for government intervention.

Locals fear more attacks if wildlife management isn’t enforced. “We need help before another life is lost,” one resident pleaded.
