As Labor Day approaches, cities across the United States prepare to honor workers and celebrate cultural pride.

In New York City, the festivities begin Monday, September 1, with the iconic West Indian Day Parade, a dazzling display of Caribbean heritage and unity in Brooklyn.

This year marks the 58th annual New York Carnival Parade, themed Vive Le Carnivale, expected to draw thousands of spectators and performers.

Later in the week, NYC will host its official Labor Day Parade, paying tribute to the American labor movement and the vital contributions of workers nationwide.

While the holiday traditionally marks the end of summer, for many, it’s also a time to reflect on the ongoing fight for fair wages, safe workplaces, and labor rights.

Expect road closures, vibrant music, and a sea of flags and costumes throughout the city.
