The Nigerian World.

The news as it trends.

As the saying goes in Nigeria, every day belongs to the thief, while one day is for the owner. This is exemplified in the case of a 28-year-old Nigerian man, Dauda Samuel, who has been apprehended for running a fraudulent police recruitment scheme on Facebook.

Reports from the Nigeria Police Force indicate that Samuel impersonated Deputy Inspector-General of Police Frank Mba through fake accounts to entice victims with false job offers.

Operating from Panda Village in Nasarawa State, he deceived unsuspecting Nigerians out of their money by advertising a non-existent recruitment initiative.

His arrest came after numerous public complaints and digital investigations conducted by the National Cybercrime Centre.

Initial findings have uncovered Samuel’s participation in computer-related fraud and identity theft. He has admitted to his crimes and has provided information that is assisting ongoing investigations.

Authorities are currently tracking his digital activities to identify any potential accomplices and are advising the public to stay alert while online.
