The news as it trends.
In what some online have called a wild publicity stunt, former NFL wide receiver Dez Bryant is now tangled in a chaotic feud with rapper Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty.
Petty, legally classified as a registered sex offender, was convicted at 16 for attempted first-degree rape of a girl his same age in 1995.
Since then, he’s required to register in any state he resides. He was arrested again in 2020 for allegedly failing to register in California after moving there with Nicki.
The feud exploded after Dez defended Jay-Z and Roc Nation during an NFL contract dispute, triggering Nicki—who’s clashed with Roc Nation for years—to jump in.
What made headlines was Nicki reportedly offering Dez $10 million in cash to fight her husband. Dez didn’t back down, saying he’d “stomp that dude out” if she brought the money. No fight is confirmed, but the viral exchange sparked frenzy.
Minaj’s Roc Nation beef stems from claims they allegedly sabotaged her career and mishandled Tidal streaming money.
While Nicki once collaborated with Beyoncé, her trust in Jay-Z’s camp appears long gone.
Nicki Minaj has publicly hinted that she’s ready to expose secrets about Roc Nation and its leadership if provoked further.
In a series of tweets, she warned that if Dez Bryant or others continue invoking her name or defending Roc Nation, she’ll respond with her own “story time.”
She specifically called out Jay-Z and Desiree Perez, Roc Nation’s CEO, accusing them of shady behavior and even threatening to reveal “juicy” details about their alleged misconduct.
One of her tweets read:
“All my stories will be about ROC NATION, JAY-Z & THE ALLEGED RACIST DESIREE PEREZ… I hope you fully understand the rules. It’s your turn.”
She also referenced surveillance tactics, legal drama involving Perez’s daughter, and claimed there are listening devices and planted cameras — all part of what she describes as a toxic power structure within Roc Nation.
