The news as it trends.
In a twist that’s caught national attention, Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert’s oldest son, 20-year-old Tyler Boebert, is facing a misdemeanor child abuse charge involving his 1-year-old son, Josiah.
Tyler, who became a father at 18, was cited in July 2025 after allegedly failing to supervise the child—leading to an incident that triggered police and Child Protective Services involvement.
Boebert, now 38, says it was a “miscommunication” and clarified that no physical harm occurred.
The family has since met with authorities to ensure the child’s safety.
Notably, Tyler’s legal record includes a previous arrest in February 2024, when he was charged with 22 counts related to vehicle break-ins and property theft in Rifle, Colorado.
Those charges ranged from criminal possession of a financial device to contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
With Tyler already on probation for identity theft, this new charge may compound his legal challenges — and pose reputational risks for Boebert’s political career.
Lauren Boebert is a 38-year-old Republican congresswoman from Colorado, known for her gun-rights activism, conservative “family-first” politics, and outspoken support for President Donald Trump.
