In the USA
The news as it trends.
A routine Delta Air Lines flight from New York City to San Francisco took a dramatic turn when a passenger unexpectedly went into labor mid-flight.
The medical emergency unfolded roughly an hour into the journey, prompting the crew to divert the aircraft to John Glenn Columbus International Airport in Ohio.
Paramedics were waiting on the tarmac and quickly attended to the passenger, who was safely transported for further care.
Contrary to some reports, the baby was not delivered onboard, but the situation caused a stir among fellow passengers—some of whom assisted the woman during the ordeal.
After the emergency was resolved, the flight resumed its original route to San Francisco, arriving with a delay of about 90 minutes.
Delta Airlines praised its crew for their swift response and professionalism under pressure.
Passengers described the experience as surreal, with one calling it “a story you only see in movies.” While the skies may have been chaotic for a moment, the compassion and quick thinking on board turned a potential crisis into a moment of humanity.
Talk about a journey no one will forget.
