Controversial Nigerian businessman Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, was reportedly arrested at the airport on Friday, August 1, 2025, while attempting to travel to Qatar.

Sources say the arrest is linked to an ongoing domestic violence case surrounding the death of his late wife, Bimbo. Authorities claim IVD had been legally barred from leaving Nigeria until the case is resolved.

He is expected to remain in custody until Monday, August 4, when he will appear in court.

His partner, Blessing CEO, has allegedly confirmed the arrest and is said to be seeking legal support on his behalf.

The incident has sparked renewed debate around accountability and justice in domestic abuse cases across Nigeria.
