The news as it trends.

Just over a week ago, the statue was removed—but now it’s back.

A controversial sculpture depicting President Donald Trump and the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein holding hands has been reinstalled on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Originally titled Best Friends Forever, the 12-foot bronze statue was taken down by the National Park Service due to permit violations.

After undergoing repairs and securing a new permit, it returned under the new name Why Can’t We Be Friends?

Created by the anonymous art collective “Secret Handshake,” the statue serves as a satirical critique of Trump’s past association with Epstein and broader societal power dynamics.

Its reappearance has reignited fierce debates over freedom of speech, artistic expression, and political accountability.

Social media erupted, with reactions sharply divided—some praising it as provocative art, others condemning it as tasteless spectacle.
