Three dockworkers in Sydney have been charged over a massive cocaine bust that shocked Australia’s waterfront.
Authorities uncovered 506 kilograms of cocaine hidden behind a false wall in a shipping container worth over $107 million USD.
The men, aged 25, 38, and 42, were part of a logistics company and allegedly used their insider access to help smuggle the drugs.
Two were forklift drivers; one was released on bail, while the others remain in custody.
Police also seized AU$330,000 in cash, believed to be drug proceeds.
The sting was led by a multi-agency task force targeting “trusted insiders” in global supply chains.
The cocaine shipment was intercepted on the Sydney waterfront, and while the container was confirmed to have been sent from Europe, the final destination within Australia or whether it was meant to be redistributed elsewhere is still under investigation.
All three face potential life sentences if convicted.
