Veteran Nollywood actor Clem Ohameze has taken legal action against a blogger who falsely claimed he was battling a stroke and had been abandoned by his sons.

The viral post, which circulated widely on Facebook, alleged that Ohameze had suffered a stroke for over two decades and was cared for only by his daughter.

The actor swiftly debunked the claims in a video statement, calling the post malicious and fabricated.

Ohameze confirmed that he has filed a report with the Nigeria Police and contacted the Department of State Services (DSS), labeling the incident a cybercrime.

He expressed outrage over the emotional toll and reputational damage caused by the false narrative, stating, “I will not let someone rubbish me just like that for cheap popularity.”

The actor emphasized that he never granted any interview making such statements and questioned the blogger’s motives.

He also revealed that the misinformation forced him to reassure his children, especially his daughter, who was deeply affected by the rumors.

A defamation lawsuit is reportedly imminent, as Ohameze seeks justice and accountability for the smear campaign that tarnished his image.
