Around the World – Weird News They Never Told You

In November 2015, Jose Mariena Cartolos, a humble 65-year-old farmer, received a $3,000 grant from the Colombian government to start a palm oil plantation on land that had been in his family for over 200 years.

While digging irrigation trenches, he struck something unexpected—large blue containers packed with $100 bills totaling $600 million.

The money was quickly linked to Pablo Escobar’s infamous $30 billion drug fortune, rumored to be buried across Colombia.

Cartolos’ land, it turns out, had once been used by Escobar to stash part of his empire’s wealth.

The farmer, innocent and simply trying to build a better life, alerted authorities immediately.

Shockingly, all the money was seized by police.

None of it was returned to Cartolos, despite the historic nature of his discovery.

The government claimed it would be used for social and economic programs, but many questioned whether justice was truly served.

It’s a story that blends history, heartbreak, and hidden treasure—and one that reminds the world how deeply Escobar’s legacy still haunts Colombia.

As many say on social media: May God help us indeed.

Pablo Escobar was a Colombian drug lord and narcoterrorist who led the infamous Medellin Cartel.

Dubbed the “King of Cocaine,” he built a $30 billion empire in the 1980s, fueling global drug trafficking, violence, and corruption.

Escobar died on December 2, 1993, at the age of 44.

He was shot and killed by Colombian special forces while attempting to flee a safe house in Medellin.
