The news as it trends
Although Hulk Hogan passed away on July 24, 2025, in Clearwater, Florida, and is scheduled to be cremated with a memorial service at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home on August 5, his past comments on race have resurfaced across social media, reigniting a long-standing controversy.
WWE legend Hulk Hogan once stood as the embodiment of American heroism in the wrestling world. But a bombshell leak—now making its way across social media platforms—changed everything.
In a 2007 private conversation, which surfaced publicly during the Gawker lawsuit years later, Hogan used shocking racial slurs and expressed disturbing views about a Black billionaire whose son was allegedly involved with his daughter, Brooke Hogan.
Hogan infamously said: “I mean, I am a racist, to a point, f–king [n-words]… I guess we’re all a little racist.”
And: “I’d rather if she was going to f–k some [n-word], I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall [n-word] worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player!”
These statements caused widespread public outrage, leading to Hogan’s removal from WWE programming and the dismantling of his hero status.
Though Hogan later issued an apology, claiming the comments were made during a moment of personal darkness, the damage had already been done.
The fallout wasn’t just professional—Brooke Hogan publicly distanced herself, and fans remain divided over whether redemption is possible for the late wrestling icon.
Even after his passing, his legacy remains under scrutiny, as conversations about fame, racism, and accountability resurface in the digital age.
