In a heartbreaking tragedy, 32-year-old Simone Lyke was fatally attacked by a pit bull named Pablo on the balcony of her San Antonio apartment late at night—on her birthday.

The dog reportedly became agitated by a visiting friend, prompting Lyke to try isolating him outside.

Witnesses described a horrific scene as Pablo relentlessly mauled her for over 20 minutes.

A bystander attempted to lure the dog away with pizza, but it was ineffective.

Lyke suffered catastrophic injuries, including the loss of an arm, and later died at the hospital.

Animal Care Services identified Lyke and another individual as the dog’s legal owners.

That person—believed to be Lyke’s boyfriend—survived the incident and was cited by authorities.

The dog, known for prior aggressive behavior, remains quarantined pending investigation.
