Shannon Sharpe is facing a fresh legal battle as Jimalita Tillman allegedly files a $20 million defamation lawsuit against him.
The drama stems from comments made by Sharpe and co-host Chad Johnson on their Nightcap podcast, where they claimed Tillman was married and getting divorced due to her viral interaction with Usher—claims she calls completely false.
Filed on July 29, 2025, in Nevada, the suit accuses the duo of spreading harmful misinformation, which sparked public backlash and led to severe emotional distress.
Tillman is represented by Tony Buzbee, the same attorney who handled Sharpe’s high-profile $50 million sexual assault case, which was settled just days prior.
Sharpe’s firing from ESPN followed immediately after the settlement, compounding his growing legal troubles and intensifying the media buzz.
Tillman maintains the podcast story was entirely fabricated, and she’s seeking justice for the reputational damage caused.
