The news as it trends.

Kim Kardashian’s high-profile skincare brand, SKKN BY KIM—once valued at $1 billion—is set to close its doors less than three years after launch.

Originally backed by beauty giant Coty Inc., the brand debuted with premium pricing and a meticulous nine-step skincare routine.

Coty, one of the world’s leading beauty conglomerates, is known for managing top-tier cosmetics, fragrances, and skincare lines like Gucci, CoverGirl, and Calvin Klein.

Despite the initial hype, SKKN struggled to resonate with everyday consumers, especially in a beauty industry that’s fiercely competitive and saturated with innovation.

Many critics cited its luxury price point as a barrier, while others felt the brand lacked uniqueness.

On June 29, 2025, all SKKN products will be removed from shelves as Kim consolidates her beauty offerings into her booming shapewear label, SKIMS.

Coty has reported a $71 million loss in the transition, and Kim is regaining control of the brand to streamline her business empire.

While some see this as a failure, others view it as a strategic move toward building a unified lifestyle brand.

Whatever the reason, the curtain closes swiftly on SKKN BY KIM.
