Trump’s Political Power Takes a Dark Turn as He Pressures Coca-Cola Executives to Change Ingredients.

In the USA.

The news as it trends.

In the United States, you may soon be paying more for a bottle of Coca-Cola—and facing a taste that feels unfamiliar—thanks to Donald Trump’s latest crusade.

On July 17, 2025, Trump announced he had personally urged Coca-Cola executives to swap high-fructose corn syrup for cane sugar, modeling the Mexican Coke recipe.

He claims it’s about improving health, taste, and patriotism under his new slogan: “Make America Healthy Again.”

But critics say the move could spike production costs, disrupt agriculture, and raise consumer prices—contradicting Trump’s pledge to lower grocery bills.

Lara Trump called him the “perfect person” to lead the charge, citing his well-known love for Diet Coke.

Legally, no president can force a private company to change its formula.

This push blurs the line between advocacy and interference, say advocates.

Critics worry: if this stands, what else could be targeted by executive influence?

In a country like the United States, where markets and businesses are built on competition and choice, advocates say consumers should be free to opt for other products—without presidential pressure on businesses to reshape taste, branding, or formulas.

Largely on social media, among food critics and small mom-and-pop owners whose livelihoods depend on food services, many lament that in a country as diverse as the United States, freedom of choice and food matters.

If you don’t like a product’s flavor, pick another—not demand that the president use his power to rewrite the menu.
