The Kitchen, the Recall, and the News as It Trends.

Before you pop in another chicken wing or slice of bread, know this: a major safety alert has hit Ireland and parts of the UK.

Nearly 60,000 Tower-brand air fryers are being recalled due to a manufacturing defect that could cause overheating and fire.

The affected models — T17023, T17061BLK, T17067, T17087, and T17129L — were sold between 2020 and 2024 at retailers including Argos, Lidl, Tesco, and Amazon.

Irish authorities are urging consumers to unplug and stop using these units immediately, especially after similar fire incidents were reported in the UK.

📢 The recall notice was issued on July 10, 2025, by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC).

Before you drop in another chicken wing or plantain, check the model number and contact Tower Housewares for guidance.

Safety first — crispy dinners can wait. 🍟🔥
