Soludo on Video — “99.99% of Those Terrorizing Anambra Are Igbos. Don’t Fall for Propaganda”
In a video making its rounds on social media, Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has stirred major controversy after declaring that the criminals terrorizing the state are not Fulani herdsmen, but homegrown Igbo criminals.
Speaking during a town hall meeting with Anambra indigenes in Maryland, USA, Soludo stated:
“In my three years and three months in office, 99.99% of the kidnappers and other criminals we’ve arrested are Igbos. Let’s stop the lies. Igbos are kidnapping and killing fellow Igbos, not Fulani.”
He described these actors as “so-called liberators” hiding in forests and feeding off blood money, pretending to protect people from Fulani herdsmen.
The shocking claim has left many in the Igbo community on edge.
Human rights group Intersociety has pushed back, accusing Soludo of shielding Fulani herdsmen and ignoring their role in rural violence.
Soludo’s comments challenge a long-standing narrative in the Southeast and have reignited fierce debate over who is truly behind the region’s insecurity.
