The news as it trends.
A tunnel collapsed on July 9, 2025, in the Wilmington area of Los Angeles, trapping at least 15 workers nearly 450 feet underground.
The collapse occurred at the Los Angeles Effluent Outfall Tunnel project, a major infrastructure site.
Over 100 LAFD personnel are on scene, but limited access and damaged communication lines are slowing rescue efforts.
No injuries have been confirmed yet, and the situation remains critical as operations continue.
